As you may know, MarketBay powers
some of the largest and best converting websites on the net. Our merchants and
affiliates know that we have been around for a long time helping them increase
their conversions and Average Revenue per Sale (ARS). MarketBay is intended for the
individuals and businesses that care about their privacy and are in need of
advanced affiliate program features.
There are many alternative payment
providers online; however, we would also advise you to be very careful when
choosing a payment solution.
Our advice would be:
1) Make sure that they will
not suspend your account after a few complaints
Even if promised otherwise, many
service providers do not allow certain materials and marketing strategies and
will suspend your account after a few complaints.
2) Deal with providers that
have experience with “digital” products
When selling or promoting online
products (high and low risk), make sure you deal with providers that can
tolerate chargebacks and refunds. Many payment providers claim to accept any
product but will suspend or close your accounts in case of chargebacks and you
will NOT get paid.
3) Ensure that they are not
new and that they can process high volumes
Many companies claim to process high
volumes, but this lasts for only a few months until they get their own merchant
account shut down by Visa, MasterCard or even worse, Paypal. (For more
information, just Google “Paypal limited account” and see for yourself.)
4) Make sure they will not
make your funds available to creditors
An offshore payment company provides
legal advantages. These advantages typically include: greater privacy for
merchants and affiliates (we do not disclose your private information), less
terms and conditions, protection against creditors (we will not voluntarily make
your funds available to creditors).
5) Make sure that you’re
dealing with a REAL company, not a VIRTUAL one
Ensure your payment provider provides
you with their full contact information including phone number and address so
that you may easily get a hold of them. Many companies are virtual; they do not
have any employees and consist of only a website (an automatic go-between for
merchants and affiliates). We are a real company with large staff and all
payments are handled through us. After all, that’s why you use affiliate
companies: so that they can act as a buffer between the affiliate and the
merchant.
6) Make sure that the payment
providers is paying affiliates, not the merchant
Avoid affiliate networks where
merchants are responsible for paying affiliates. Merchants have no obligation to
pay affiliates what they’re owed. I would say that most merchants are honest and
do pay. But it’s a bit too risky for our taste. If the merchant gets cold feet,
the affiliate does NOT get paid. When it comes to issues like payment, it is
good to have a buffer between the two parties.
